TIM BUTT'S FINAL RACEDRIVE

Premier stables trainer Tim Butt  is to have his last raceday drive at Addington Raceway on Friday, July 30.

The prominent Canterbury trainer has relinquished his drivers’ licence and will be looking to go out with a bang in Race 1 behind Valhalla.

He has drawn barrier one, next to his brother Anthony (on Touch Of Rose) who is the main driver for the siblings’ Premier Stables.

Butt began driving as a Junior in the mid 80’s winning his first race in December 1985 behind Enticing.

His biggest win came in 1988 behind his late fathers’ horse Game Nian. In January 1989 he won his first race as a trainer with Dubois Moss, which he also drove. However driving quickly took a back seat and his last win was in 1997 with only five starts since.

Career Driving Statistics: 575 starts – 33 wins – 31 seconds – 26 thirds – $150,404 stakes
