ADMINISTRATION/PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGERsmiling shard chrissy 74

Chrissie Dalgety, Cran's wife, has an integral role in the Kentuckiana Lodge operation.

She is Kentuckiana Lodge's administration and public relations manager.

Chrissie has witnessed procedures of running harness stables from an early age with her parents, the late Murray, and Jenny Butt.

Her brothers, Tim, Anthony and Roddy, are all successful horsemen, with Tim and Anthony star players at Premier Stables

While her late grand-fathers, Derek Jones and Wes Butt, were legendary harness racing trainers. Both were premiership winning trainers.

Chrissie combines raising a young family _ daughters Laura and Madison, and son Carter _ with managing her other tasks at Kentuckiana Lodge.

Chrissie is also enjoying a great run as an owner _ having shares in last season's champion 2YO Smiling Shard, and promising 4YO's Band On The Run, About Ambition, and impressive Addington 3YO Sires' Stakes Heat winner Hip Hop Anvil.

Kentuckiana Lodge's experienced support horsemen ensure all tasks around the stables are peformed to full capacity.

Cran employs a great team of successful support trainers _ Kevin Turnbull (foreman), Murray Howard, David Moore and Bill Roberts _ to do the hard yards behind the scenes.

They are complemented in the training regime with assistance from top drivers, Dexter and Shane.

Jack Reeves, who came to Kentuckiana Lodge with an alternative interest in dairy farming, is responsible for track and maintenance duties.

"They are all great blokes. You wouldn't find better," says Kevin Turnbull.

"They are a pleasure to work with."

With Cran's big race team travelling to various venues throughout the season, there is always an experienced hand at the helm.

Horse preparation and grooming continues at Kentuckiana Lodge with no horse missing individual attention.

Dexter Dunn receives Outstanding Achievement Award
18th August 09

At the 2009 glitzy Harness Racing awards held at the Convention Centre in Christchurch, sensational driver Dexter Dunn received many worthy accolades.

One award was kept secret from Dexter and was presented by John Mooney from the NZ Standardbred Breeders’ Association (NZSBA) on behalf of the three Kindred Bodies – the NZSBA, NZ Trotting Owners Association and the NZ Harness Racing Trainers and Drivers Association.

Dexter was presented the 2009 Outstanding Achievement award for his amazing success, dedication and hard

work this season. He was presented with a beautifully framed photo of his 200th win salute along with a very fitting citation as below: dexter john jim john

"Dexter Dunn distinguished himself through his outstanding achievements as a licensed horseman and ambassador for harness racing. Dexter drove 204 winners in the 2008/09 season. His balance, poise, and relaxed driving style is a rare talent, used well. In just three years Dexter has achieved: the New Zealand record for wins by a driver or a jockey; the youngest driver of a Group One race; the youngest junior driver to win 100 races in a season; and the first junior driver to win $1 million in a season.

His professional attitude, work ethic, courteous demeanour and exemplary behaviour are admired inside and outside of harness racing. These distinctive accomplishments reflect great credit upon himself, his family, his employer, his workmates and New Zealand harness racing."

Dexter hasn’t slowed down at all after his phenomenal success last season, he has started the 2009 season leading the Drivers’ Premiership and posted three wins at Rangiora’s meeting on Sunday.

The three Kindred Bodies wish Dexter all the best for the coming season and will be watching his progress with much interest.
